MOLECULAR SIEVES

Molecular sieves are Zeolites or metal-aluminosilicates, used as adsorbents for gases and liquids. A highly porous crystalline compound, molecular sieves help molecules small enough to pass through the pores and get adsorbed subsequently, while larger molecules are rejected. They can also be used as a desiccant and can adsorb water up to 22% of its own weight.
